Its saturday on the 3rd of September and the time here in Singapore is 12.03 P.M and where else to be than studying at starbuck (Jurong Point, Boon Lay).
To tell you the truth, I have for some time now been looking for good places to study! You know those spots where focus, efficiency and learning all come together to form a productive day. Where one can actually go home and feel like you acomplished what you set out to do. Now for those who know me, I am very much a guy who needs my space and quiet in order to get something done. But since arriving in Singapore, spots like the library or quiet rooms have proved to be bad and the feeling of falling behind has been increasingly growing on me. I mean considering the fact that I have tried 4 of the schools libraries and almost always fallen asleep, I guess its safe to say that the old ways must be changed into new.
So here I am, sitting in one of the '4 million' malls eating my cinnamon raisin bagel while sipping on chai feeling groovy and ready for business. All around me people are running from store to store while others are sittning down over a cup of coffee discussing the latest news and gossip. There is some serious life in this town and I LOVE IT!
4 months ago I was stressed and always on the run with something to do or fix. Sitting in a quiet place was my only way out of that, I suppose I felt like I needed it in order to be able to get things done. Now that feeling is gone. Having a lot to do isn't as stressful as it was back then. Instead I think that all of what I did last year along with the summer job at Nordea, really has taught me that irrespective of how difficult something might seem or be at the time, what needs to be done in the end always is.
So here I am! in a crowdy, laoud and all wheels burning kind of a place and all I am thinking of in this 'Starbucks study' is the 4 group projects along with the 2 individual assignments that need to be done! And done they will be!
